My Lost City - by Warden Kline

Origin

My Lost City began as a journal without a title in October, 2001. It is the product of one man's thoughts, lessons and experiences as he struggles to establish a life in New York City.

Confronted by an inhospitable, devastated metropolis, the author combs the New York of today and of the past, searching for a sense of identity and the meaning of the city in the twenty-first century.

This journal takes its name - and inspiration - from a 1931 essay by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This journal was also inspired by the string quartets of Shostakovich, the letters of John Fante and H.L. Mencken, the people of North London, and Czechvar® - the true king of beers.

Updates

Warden had a nasty case of S.A.D. but he came around towards the middle of January. A major update was made on February 5, 2002, during which printer-friendly versions of all the entries were added. Look for the link at the bottom of each edition.

If you would like to be notified of future updates, write to lostcity@subtitled.com. It really works!
